WINTER EMPTIES 2016

Thank god Winter is finally over! It’s time to start Spring cleaning and what better place to start than my empty product stash!

Here’s the products I’ve finished over the last few months.

MAKEUP

Mac Lipstick (Creme d’nude)

My first ever Mac lipstick and still one of my favourite shades. It’s a gorgeous light nude with a nice creamy finish.

Repurchase? Already had a backup waiting!

Rimmel Fix & Perfect Primer

A tinted cream primer made to minimise pores and smooth skin. To me this felt more like a BB cream as the colour felt too dark for a primer.

Repurchase? No. If I was to purchase a new drugstore primer I would like to try ELF.

Revlon Photo Ready Primer

This primer was a lot thicker and more silicone like. It filled fine lines well and gave a smooth base. I ended up taking the lid off and using a brush as the product got low.

Repurchase? Yeh, if it was on sale.

MAKEUP REMOVAL

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

My holy grail makeup remover. It doesn’t irritate my skin and not much product is needed. I like the new travel bottle as it doesn’t take up as much space as the original size.

Repurchase? Always. It’s my fave!

Simple Micellar Cleansing Water

I bought this on sale to give it a try. It is quite similar to the garnier micellar water but for me doesn’t work as well.

Repurchase? Maybe. As I do prefer the Garnier Micellar water.

Trilogy Makeup Be Gone Cleansing Balm

This was a sample sizes product I received in The parcel by Marie Claire. I absolutly loved the product and used it all up really quick. I love how it melts away makeup while nourishing your skin.

Repurchase? I was kindly gifted a fullsize of this product and couldn’t be more happy with it.

Swisspers Rosehip Rejuvenating Facial Cleansing Wipes

These wipes were ok but for me they weren’t wet enough. I tend to add a bit of Micellar water to help remove makeup better.

Repurchase? No. I’m currently using Rosehip wipes which are more moisturising.

SKINCARE

Sukin Hydrating Mist Toner

I quickly fell in love with this spray. I found myself spraying my face in the mornings to wake myself up and at night before applying my moisturiser.

Repurchase? Yeh I probably would.

Avon Anew Reversalist Renewal Serum

As an ex Avon Rep I’ve tried my fair share of anti ageing creams. This one I liked as not much product is neede and it made my skin feel super soft. The packaging was cool too.

Repurchase? No, I’m more of a natural ingredients girl now.

Soap & Glory Hand Cream

This little tub of goodness was my bedside saviour over Winter. Not only did it smell delicious it deeply nourished my dry hands too.

Repurchase? Yep, I’d like to try some other products from the brand too.

HAIR CARE

John Freida Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Shampoo

I didn’t mind this shampoo. It did lighten my hair slightly but nothing too noticeable. It smelt pretty nice too.

Repurchase? Maybe. I’d like to see what the conditioner is like too.

Ogx Coconut Milk Shampoo & Conditioner

How cute are these little samples! I’ve really been loving coconut products lately and I was pretty impressed with the quality of these.

Repurchase? Yeh, I’d buy this brand if it was sale.

Pro Voke Touch Of Silver Brightening Shampoo

I bought this with my priceline voucher when I was in desperate need of some hair toner. It did slightly take the yellow tones from my hair but I prefer the results from Shwarzkopf’s mousse dye in ice flower.

Klorane Dry Shampoo

I go through phases of being addicted to dry shampoo. This sample size is perfect to chuck in your handbag. It works as good as Batiste but doesn’t have a strong scent.

Repurchase? Nah, I like the colourful Batiste cans and their pretty fragrances.

OTHER BITS & PIECES

Avon Makeup Setting Spray

I was surprised that this setting spray was actually pretty good. It became slightly sticky when setting which worked well under and over makeup. I pushed into my skin using my beauty blender after applying my foundation.

Repurchase?

No. I’ve got my heart set on Mac fix plus. I’m nearly out of my sample and I’ve been liking it better than this one.

Lynx Anarchy For Her

I’ve always liked the smell of men’s Lynx. Especially Africa. Quite a while ago I bought this and I love the smell of it.

Repurchase? Big fat no. I’ve recently been using natural Deoderant from Moo Goo and I am feeling much better about going aluminum free.

Elf Brush Shampoo
Not long after buying my first set of quality makeup brushes I bought this to clean them with. At the time it’s the only brush cleaner I could find. It did the job but since using other brand I think you get what you pay for.

Repurchase? No. Other brush cleansers I’ve tried work much better.

Elf Makeup Mist & Set

This was another first for me. Back before I used setting sprays I bought this to see what they were all about. It was more of a hydrating spray than a setting spray and was good to refresh your face during the day.

Repurchase?

Nup. I prefer the formula in other brands.

Well that’s it for my Winter Empties. If your not already keeping track of the products your finishing you should! It’s a great reminder to use what you have got before buying new products!

  1. OMG how can you make a lipstick empty? I have been using my fav MAC lipstick for 2 years a lot ( not everyday) and I’m still only halfway!
